Holistic Wellness & Herbal Medicine in Portland, OR
Take a breath and slow down
Acupuncture helps you reach a deeply relaxed state, allowing your body to restore balance and begin its natural healing process. Long-lasting benefits take root when your body and mind feel safe, and the nervous system is able to settle. That’s why I specialize in gentle needling and bodywork techniques—soothing, comfortable methods that promote deep healing and relaxation.
Dancing Heron Acupuncture was formerly Invisible Grace, founded by Gwen LoVetere in 2004. Under its new name, Heidi Cohen continues the legacy of heart-centered holistic care through classical Chinese medicine.
Heidi has been such a miracle worker in my life. My health has dramatically changed from when I first started. I fully trust Heidi and her intuitive caretaking. She also is open to western medicine techniques and has worked with me to find the perfect combination to get my life back.

What to Expect
We will review your medical history and medications, current symptoms, and health goals.
Intake & Health History
Pulse assessment
Through pulse diagnosis, your body communicates where it has vitality, and what needs support. Different areas of the pulse can reflect physical and/or emotional processes that may be present, and help guide your sessions.
Treatment
Acupuncture is used to support the body in healing itself, often combined with gentle bodywork and moxibustion techniques.
Chinese Herbal Consultation
Custom herbal formulas are tailored to your pulse findings, symptoms, and constitution. Herbs help support and reinforce the treatments, allowing the healing momentum to continue between acupuncture visits.
Treatment Strategy
Together, we'll create a personalized treatment plan, explore herbal medicine as an option, and empower you with daily lifestyle strategies to optimize your health.

Heidi creates a supportive atmosphere whose acupuncture treatments are effective. She talks about symptoms before doing anything and takes pulses for further understanding of what's going on. Highly recommended.

Services
Acupuncture
I use a Japanese-style needling approach, often involving smaller needles and shallower insertion. This can be ideal for those new to acupuncture or with needle sensitivity.
Moxibustion
This profoundly relaxing therapy uses heated dried mugwort (Artemisia vulgaris) to emit soothing warmth and enhance circulation in treatment areas.
Bodywork
Craniosacral, myofascial release, tuina, and cupping help you find more ease-ful ways of being in your body.
Herbal Medicine
Herbal formulas are crafted for your specific needs. Each dose is a mini-treatment—a daily ritual that reinforces healing momentum between acupuncture visits. Allow yourself a few moments each day to slow down and be present with the medicine.
